摘要
Known as the“Roof of the World,”the Tibetan plateau averages more than 4,000 meters above sea level, creating a low-oxygen environment that can be difficult to inhabit. Also dubbed the“world’s last pure land”and the“water tower of Asia,”the snowy plateau has a fragile ecosystem. In the past,Tibet was ruled by feudal serfdom,a barbaric and backward social system that prevented the economy from development and forced local people to survive under monastic slavery and brutal torture by landowners.Today, however,Tibet has taken on a completely new look.
