摘要
Doug Stephan did his BSc at McMaster in 1976 and PhD in chemistry at UWO in 1980.He spent 2 years as a NATO postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard,before beginning his independent career at the University of Windsor.He was promoted through the ranks becoming full Professor in 1992,a NSERC Industrial Research Chair in 2001,University Professor in 2002 and Canada Research Chair in 2005.In 2008,he moved to the University of Toronto as a Professor and Canada Research Chair.In 2018,he was promoted to the rank of University Professor.He has received a number of national awards including a Killam Fellowship(2011)and Polanyi Award(2019).Internationally he was a Senior Researcher Humboldt Award(2002),the Ciapetta Lectureship Award(2005)and several awards from the Royal Society of Chemistry in the UK.He was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of London(2013),a corresponding member of the North-Rhein-Westfaelia Academy of the Sciences and Arts(2014),Distinguished Adjunct Professor at the King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia(2015),an Einstein Visiting Professor at the Technical University in Berlin(2016-2019)and a Guggenheim Fellow(2020).
