Analogical innovation methodology is used in the teaching of Gauss formula. By reproducing the discovery process of the formula, using the abstraction and generalization of Newton-Leibniz formula and Green formula, a conjecture about the second-type surface integral is presented and proved. Gauss formula is then introduced.
