Research progress on galectin 8

半乳糖凝集素-8(Gal-8)是半乳糖凝集素家族中的一员,广泛分布在各种动植物组织中,具有细胞黏附、生长、中性粒细胞调节、免疫调节、血小板功能调节等多种作用。近年来,Gal-8在生理及病理过程中所起作用正日益引起科研工作者们的重视。目前已发现Gal-8的表达水平不仅与肾癌、胃癌、肺癌、膀胱癌等多种肿瘤的转移、恶性程度、预后相关,且与哮喘等自身免疫病有关。文章对Gal-8相关疾病、细胞相互作用及其抑制剂进行综述。

Galectin 8(Gal 8)is a member of Galectin subfamily,widely distributed in various animal tissues,and is involved in various functions such as cell adhesion,proliferation,neutrophil regulation,immune regulation,platelet function regulation.In recent years,galectin 8 plays an increasingly important role in physiological and pathological processes is attracting increasing attention from researchers.It has been found that the expression degree of galectin 8 is related to the metastasis,degree of deterioration,prognosis of kidney cancer,stomach cancer,lung cancer,bladder cancer and other tumors.And it is related to asthma or other autoimmune disease.The research on its related diseases,cell interactions and its inhibitors provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of related diseases.
