《方言》“蝎、噬,逮也”解诂

Explanatory Notes for “Xie(蝎),Shi(噬),Daiye(逮也) ” in Dialect

对于《方言》"蝎、噬,逮也"条的注解,以往各家阐释多有未安之处,尤其在引据书证时,多轻信《诗经》毛传。"蝎""噬"分别为"遏""遾"方言记音字,但故训中有几处词例将"曷""噬"释作"逮",均不可靠,《大雅·抑》"言不可逝矣"即为有效书证。运用平行互证法可知"遏""遾""逮"三者在相及义上具有同源关系。

There are many unsettled explanations on the"Xie,Shi,Daiye"("蝎、噬,逮也")in Dialect in the past.Especially when they cited documentary evidence,they believed Mao Heng’s annotation of The Book of Songs easily.On the basis of identifying"Xie"("蝎"),"Shi"("噬")as the written words used to record dialectal sounds of"E"("遏"),"Shi"("遾").This paper puts forward some suggestions:It is proved that several examples of interpreting"E"("遏")and"Shi"("遾")as"Dai"("逮")in the past are unreliable,and"Yan Bu Keyi Shiyi"("言不可逝矣")in Daya·Yi(《大雅·抑》)is actually a valid documentary evidence.Then,using the method of parallel mutual verification,it reveals the homologous relationship of the three words in the sense of catching up.
