The import of western literature at the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty gradually updated the ancient Chinese academics.The bibliography represented the increase in catalog categories,the use of western academic terminology,and the innovation of bibliographic ideas.The analysis of the situation and characteristics of the western literature in the private catalogs in the Ming and Qing dynasties helped to understand the impact of the importation of western literature on the development of catalogs.
