Overseas Language Environments Facing China’s MNCs and the Challenges They Pose for the Country’s Language Services Industry

我国改革开放的伟大成就之一是自1990年代以来涌现出一批新兴本土跨国公司并成为海外投资的中坚力量。本文以2019年我国进入“财富500强”的111家本土跨国公司为研究对象,在简述上述企业海外投资现状的基础上,详细归纳其所处语言环境和语言服务需求特征,由此揭示对语言服务业发展的启示。

One of the notable achievements of China's reform and opening up is the emergence of a considerable number of Chinese multinational corporations(MNCs),whose operations abroad are responsible for most of China's foreign direct investment.This paper looks into the language environments in which 111 Chinese MNCs on the 2019 Fortune 500 list have been operating.It then goes on to discuss what opportunities and challenges such a diverse set of language environments presents to China's language services industry.
