Studying the Monumentality of Sculptures through Monuments of Ancient Greece and Rome

本文通过回顾古希腊罗马时代经典的纪念碑雕塑重新梳理和探讨了关于纪念碑雕塑的相关问题。文章前两部分分别对古希腊和古罗马时代重要的纪念碑雕塑进行了介绍,在此基础上厘清了古典时代纪念碑雕塑所具有的基本特质,并结合学界的观点探讨了纪念碑雕塑与纪念碑性的关系问题。最后,本文通过具体的案例说明了"纪念碑性"并非是一种可以真正确定的观念形式,尽管纪念碑雕塑与纪念碑性始终内在于一种当代性和历史性的文化张力之中,但在特定的文化视角下,两者也可能获得持久的同一性。

This article reviews the classic monuments in ancient Greece and Rome,and summarizes and discusses relating issues.The first two parts of the article introduce important monuments in ancient Greece and ancient Rome respectively,and conclude the basic features that are common for monuments in antiquity accordingly,proposing the views of the academic world on the monumentality of monuments.In the last part,specific examples are raised to demonstrate that the"monumentality"is not a fixed concept,and though monuments and the monumentality have always been existing in a modern and historic cultural tension,there can be a lasting identity between them under specific cultural contexts.
