Tic disorder(TD)is a complex neuropsychiatric disease involving multiple factors such as genetic, biological, psychological, and environmental factors, which is mainly characterized by motor and/or vocal tics, and most patients have more than one comorbidities. The severity of impairment is usually assessed by standardized scales, which can objectively and quantitatively assess the severity of tic and related impairments, determine the therapeutic effect and estimate the prognosis.TD and the comorbidities can bring different degrees of impairments and interactions on learning, life, social activities and psychological aspects in children, adolescents and early adulthood, including psychological behavioral problems, cognitive and social function impairments, mental and psychological disorders and sleep disorders, etc. The presence of comorbidities usually has more significant impact than the simple TD,posing adverse effects on the long-term outcomes of the patients. Therefore, further attention should be paid to the impairments and interactions of the comorbidities in the children with TD,in order to conduct comprehensive interventions on TD.
