The oath of joining the Communist Party of China is a solemn promise made by new Party members to the Party and the people when they join the Party,which embodies the basic requirements of our Party for its members.Constitution of the Communist League provides basic rules for the proletarian parties to make the oath of joining the Party,which constitutes the core content of the oath.The oath of joining the Communist Party of China appeared first in the period of the Great Revolution,and finalized in the new period of reform and opening up.During this period,great changes happened in the Party's objectives,working methods and historical environment,the oath of joining the Party undergoing many revisions and changes.However,the core contents of“serving the people”,“striving for communism”and“never betraying the Party”remained consistent,reflecting the dialectics of“change”and“stability”.The century-long evolution of the oath of joining the Party enlightens us that serving the people wholeheartedly is the fundamental purpose that the Party must always adhere to;keeping pace with the times is the theoretical character that the Party must always adhere to;Communism is the lofty ideal that Communists must always adhere to;loyalty to the party is the political quality that a Communist must always adhere to.
