Subtitle,as one of the modes,plays an important role in the construction of the overall meaning of video discourse.This paper aims to explore the influence of multimodal discourse on subtitle translation of musical short plays from the perspective of the semantic level and the formal level of the synthetic theoretical framework for multimodal discourse analysis based on the excerpt of Mrs.Tremaine in Tough Love,hoping to provide a reference for subtitle translation.
