摘要
《上层林冠》以“树”为主角,以“树状”生态叙事结构以及围绕“树”展开的生态叙事情节,展现了一个关于人与树的生态寓言。理查德·鲍尔斯在小说中采用的生态叙事给予树木作为“非人类群体”更多的话语权,打破了传统的以人物为中心的叙事模式;通过树木与人类群体关系的探讨指出自然与人从二元对立到和谐统一的关键在于自然与科技相融。以“树”为核心,让人重新审视人类在地球上的地位,这对反思全球生态危机下的人类中心主义,重新思考人与自然的关系具有一定的启发意义。
The Overstory,features the tree and adopts tree-shaped ecological narrative and the ecological narrative plots that center on the trees,taking on a ecological fable about the tree and human.Richard Powers strives to give voice to nonhuman assemblage(trees)by his eco-narrative,which breaks way from the traditional narrative form that focuses on human.Besides,he discusses the relationship between trees and human groups to demonstrate that the key of eliminating such opposition is the integration of nature and science and technology.Establishing the tree as subject of novel makes people rethink the status of human beings on the earth,which has certain enlightening significance for questioning the idea of anthropocentrism under the global ecological crisis and thinking the relationship between human being and nature.
