In Alias Grace,Atwood rewrites the story of Grace,a historical figure, returning to women the voice obliterated in the grand historical discourse and placing female body from the historical shadow in the light of modern body and space philosophies. In the novel,Atwood reveals the fact that female body is disciplined and inscribed by the knowledge-power discourse, and she explores the mobility and diversity of the female body in daily space practice and its revolutionary nature of resisting and escaping from the male authority space, and investigates the possibility for women to reconstruct their body and create themselves through recalling their body experience, thus recording the vivid individual life into history and inspiring a dialectical contemplation on the female body.
