欧美国家的赵树理作品研究经历了从五六十年代确立基调,到七八十年代发生转向,再到九十年代回顾与总结,并逐渐走向沉寂这样一个完整的发生、发展、趋于沉寂的过程。其间,包括欧美国家的华裔学者、中国文学研究专家、汉学家、翻译家等在内的一批重量级人物参与其中,通过作品赏析批评、译介等方式将赵树理作品纳入文学史并介绍给全世界的读者。虽然观点不同、立场各异,但他们的研究为全面、深刻地认识赵树理及其作品开启了一扇不一样的窗口。

The studies of Zhao Shuli's works in occidental countries have experienced three stages roughly,with the first stage in the 1950s and 1960s,during which the tone was set,the second stage in the 1970s and 1980s,during which a reorientation occurred,and the last stage in the early 1990s when various researches were summed up and eventually concluded.In almost half a century of dissemination of Zhao's works,distinguished Chinese and American academics,sinologists,translators,and critics of Chinese literature have participated in this,and introduced Zhao's works to the readers worldwide through appreciation,criticism,and translation.Their stands and opinions may be different,but their academic activities have provided diverse perspectives for the in-depth understanding of Zhao Shuli and his works.
