Open Rotor Engine-Possible Future for Sustainable Aviation

As the world has been trying to reduce pollution emissions and tackling the climate change,airlines,as a major source of airborne pollution,certainly need to make them more environmentally sustainable.To meet their target of cutting total carbon emissions in half by 2050 while the number of aircraft grows,substantial improvements are expected to be made in new engine and airframe technologies,the use of sustainable fuels and streamlining air traffic flow.
