New Interpretation of"Yougui"(攸簋)Inscription

攸簋对于西周早期燕国历史研究具有重要意义,但是对其铭文的解读至今仍有疑问。铭文最后一句以往多释为“肇作綨(綦)”,其意难通,进而产生多种解读。通过考察字形、读音、辞例,认为所谓“綨”字可能是“■(簋)”字的异体,字形左旁为簋之象形初文,即“皀”字,右旁的“其”表声。“肇作綨(綦)”可读为“肇作簋”。

“Yougui”(攸簋)has important significance for history in Yan State,while there are some problems about the inscription.The last sentence has been interpreted as“ZhaoZuoQi”(肇作綨).This interpretation cannot explain the meaning of the inscription.The article translates the last word into“Gui”(簋).The character components on the left is“Bi”(皀),the right is“Qi”(其)which are the phonetic elements.The last sentence which has been interpreted as“ZhaoZuoQi”(肇作綨)should be interpreted into“ZhaoZuoGui”(肇作簋).
