摘要
不同功能的语篇交际目的各异,相应翻译策略亦是。科普语篇知识传播和信息交际的简化,其特有的语篇功能决定了译者应采取专门的翻译策略来实现"作者—读者"语用交互。基于2019-2021年《科学美国人》(英文)与《环球科学》(中文)平行语料,本文拟构了英文科普语篇汉译策略的综合框架,然后结合典型案例进行了应用分析。研究发现,为实现"作者—读者"语用交互,英文科普语篇汉译者会调用版面布局和书面语符等多模态资源,以书面语符为主,并高频使用转换和增译的翻译手法,涉及词汇、句法等多层面的语言要素。
The communicative goals of different discourses vary with their respective functions,so do the relevant translation strategies.The simplification of knowledge and information dissemination in discourses of science popularization and the specific function of discourses determine the translation strategies adopted by the translators in order to achieve the goal of pragmatic interaction between authors and readers.Based on the parallel corpus of Scientific American and its Chinese version Huan Qiu Kexue published between 2019 to 2021,this paper proposes a comprehensive framework for analyzing the strategies for translating discourses of science popularization.The research shows that Chinese translators of discourses of science popularization deploy multimodal resources,such as the layout and linguistic symbols,to realize the pragmatic interaction between the author and the reader.Moreover,they will frequently use the translation techniques of conversion and amplification.
