摘要
Hypertension is an increasingly prevalent chronic disease that affects approximately 1 billion people worldwide.Elevated blood pressure inflicts longterm damage to various organs, including the kidneys.Hypertension aggravates the clinical course of chronic kidney disease, and promotes progression toward end-stage renal disease.Among the cases of end-stage renal disease,30%are directly attributable to hypertension.Though the molecular mechanism responsible for renal injury remains largely unknown, elucidating this mechanism is critical to preventing these deleterious complications.
