近代翻新小说之“新”处探析

A Probe into the“Newness”in Modern Rewritten Novels

翻新小说是清末民初的一种重要的小说类型,是晚清形成的借助古典人物或情节写新事的一种创作潮流。翻新小说之所以与续书有所区别,就在于翻新小说之“新”字。思想上文人焦虑的表达,民族忧思的抒发;文体上古典小说的借鉴,各式小说的杂糅;小说顺应市场需求的倾向与政治功能的强调;叙事上时空观的打破,荒诞反讽的艺术,陌生化手法的使用,都是翻新小说的特色,亦体现出翻新小说的价值。

As an important type of novels in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,rewritten novels are viewed as a trend of writing new stories with the help of classical characters or plots.The diff erence between rewritten novels and sequels lies in the“newness”in rewritten novels,which expresses the literacy’s anxiety and national concerns by using classical novels for reference mingling various kinds of novels.Rewritten novels conform to the needs of the market and embody political functions,breaking through the concept of time and space in narration by using the art of absurd irony and defamiliarization techniques.All the features also refl ect the value of rewritten novels.
