敦煌在古代丝绸之路上具有无与伦比的重要性,唐诗中有大量作品咏及敦煌,唐朝前期敦煌的繁荣和安定、安史之乱中敦煌守军抵抗吐蕃人侵略的英勇斗争,张议潮驱逐吐蕃人势力,敦煌回归的巨大胜利以及在这场斗争中作出重要贡献的敦煌人士都在唐诗里得到吟咏和歌颂。敦煌始终受到唐朝诗人的关注,唐诗反映了敦煌的盛衰变化。

Dunhuang played an indispensable position in ancient Silk Road and there are numerous works in poetry of Tang Dynasty that mentioned it.The major topics in such works include Dunhuang’s prosperity and peacefulness in the early time of Tang Dynasty,Dunhuang guards’brave fighting against Tubo Tibetans’aggression in Anshi Rebellion,Zhang Yichao’s driving Tubo Tibetans away,Dunhuang’s great reunion to central government and the magnificent contribution made by Dunhuang people.All these topics had been expounded and praised in detail in poetry of Tang Dynasty.Dunhuang was always under the attention of poets in Tang Dynasty,which also reflect the rise and fall of Dunhuang itself.
