After Mathew Perry opened the door of Japan,British Admiral James Sterling led his fleets to Nagasaki port for chasing Russian fleet.Due to some mistakes made by a translator on the British ship.Sterling signed treaty with Japan accidentally. For both sides, there was not enough preparation(signing),especially England, and Sterling’s actions were even regarded as reck less. However, there was an inevitable contact between Japan and Britain after Perry's action, and this signing can also be regarded as an accidental necessity.
