Health First,Study Second:The Background,Connotation and Enlightenment of Mao Zedong's Policy on Solving Students'Health Problems

中华人民共和国成立之初,毛泽东提出了“健康第一,学习第二”的教育、健康指导思想。这一方针集中体现了毛泽东一系列卫生健康思想:健康是社会发展的基础,青少年(学生)是健康保护的重点,维护青少年健康应当坚持预防为主,青少年要对自己的健康负起责任。“健康第一,学习第二”对当前推进健康中国建设有着重要的启示:要把健康摆在第一位,把健康融入一切政策,不惜一切代价维护人民健康。健康中国建设必须一以贯之地坚持下去,每个人是自己健康的第一责任人。

At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China,Mao Zedong put forward a guiding ideology for education and health that he proposed“health first,study second”.This policy embodies a series of Mao Zedong's thoughts on health:health is the foundation of social development;teenagers(students)are the focus of health protection;prevention should be the priority in safeguarding the health of adolescents;teenagers should be responsible for their own health.The thought of“health first,study second”has an important enlightenment to promote the current construction of a health China:We should give top priority to health,integrate health into all policies,and protect people's health at all costs.The building of a health China must continue in a consistent manner.Everyone is the primary responsibility for his or her own health.
