Over the years, the teachers′major of Chinese language and literature in higher normal colleges and universities has formed a relatively stable talent training model and curriculum system. But with the development of society, some problems have appeared, including the disconnection between the talent training model and social needs, and the gradual separation of the curriculum system from the students′professional interests and learning styles. In response to the existing problems, introduction of the concept of curriculum maps that have been popular in Europe and the United States in recent years has practical significance for adjusting the training program and curriculum system for the normal major of Chinese language and literature. From the perspective of curriculum map design, the article focuses on the relationship between talent training goals and core competence, the transformation of the main role of the curriculum, and the logical relationship between different curricula. It proposes that the classic reading should be treated as the supporting point of the curriculum system for the normal major of the Chinese language and literature. The classical reading not only points to the course content itself, but also promotes the reform of the course structure, and the teaching and learning methods. It is even an internal″curriculum thinking″that runs through the entire process of the course instruction, and hence becomes an effective teaching method.
