During the Anti-Japanese War,Zhang Zhongshi entered Xinjiang from Chongqing via Lanzhou.During his stay in Xinjiang,he devoted himself to revolutionary cultural activities and at the same time published more than ten works and translations on Marxism.These works can be classified into four categories,namely,caring for China's future,analyzing the current situation using political economics theory,translating Russian Marxist-Leninist works,and disseminating revolutionary culture.Particularly worthy of the times is that Zhang Zhongshi observed Chinese society,analyzed the root causes of the nature of Chinese semi-colonial society,supplemented thinking on the economic aspects during the War,and discussed incisively the united front,which revealed the practice of Marxism method.An in-depth discussion of the value and purpose of Zhang Zhongshi's work in Xinjiang during the Anti-JapaneseWar is still instructive for the promotion of contemporary Marxism in China.
