On the Influence of Buddhism and Its Stories on Novels of Celestial Beings and Taoist Priests

仙道小说,或称道教小说,是指以宣扬神仙信仰、反映神仙或道士生活为主要内容的小说。仙道小说在很多方面都深受佛教的影响,并深深打上了佛教的烙印,如佛教的一些教义、概念、词汇、典故、故事情节、题材、创作模式等,就深刻地影响着仙道小说,并成为其有机组成部分。但仙道小说与佛教故事相比,也有明显差异。

Novels of celestial beings and Taoist priests,or Taoist novels,refer to the novels whose main content is to publicize the belief of celestial beings,reflect the lives of gods or Taoist priests.Novels of celestial beings and Taoist priests are deeply influenced by Buddhism in many ways,and are deeply marked by Buddhism.For example,some Buddhist doctrines,concepts,vocabulary,allusions,story plots,themes,and creative models have profoundly influenced novels of celestial beings and Taoist priests and become an integral part of them.However there are obvious differences between novels of celestial beings and Taoist priests and Buddhist stories.
