Rethinking the Ranking of Higher Vocational Colleges in China

摘要 我国主流的高职院校排名是全样本综合性的高职排名,这种排名存在三个方面的问题。从前提角度看,与高职院校的区域性和行业性特征之间有着内在冲突。从排名本体看,排名本身不够公开透明。从排名后果来看,对高职院校发展会产生误导。面对这些问题,建议排名机构改进排名活动,放弃全样本综合性排名,研制区域性或行业性高职排名;加强排名规范建设,确保排名公开透明;客观宣传排名;政府部门应通过建立排名机构的定期认可制度等方式加强对排名机构的管理。 The mainstream ranking of higher vocational colleges in China is a full-sample comprehensive ranking. However, there are three problems with such ranking. From the perspective of premise, there is an inherent conflict with the regional and industry characteristics of higher vocational colleges. From the perspective of ranking itself, the ranking has insufficient openness and transparency. From the perspective of consequences, such ranking will mislead the development of higher vocational colleges. In the face of these problems, it is suggested that ranking institutions should improve ranking activities, abandon full-sample comprehensive rankings, develop specific higher vocational rankings based on different regions and industries, strengthen the construction of ranking norms to ensure its openness and transparency and publicize rankings objectively. Government departments should strengthen the management of ranking institutions by establishing a regular verification system for ranking institutions.
