In the Bloody Chamber and Other Stories, through rewriting the traditional fairy tales and human metamorphosis,Angela Carter liberates women from the“male gaze”as well as the shackles imposed upon them.Meanwhile,in the process of transforming into tigers, were wolves, vampires, and other monsters, she also allows women to conspire with the“Demonized other”who are excluded from the Western pantheon.Metamorphosis provides a way for all the living things to escape the oppression and embrace freedom, and thus enables life to give full play to its possibility and potential.
