Overview of the traditional elements of Chinese scientific and technological civilization on elderly brain health

本世纪信息守恒定律的提出对科技文明的进化产生了重大影响,启示我们应从历史范畴看待科技文明。本文通过对老年脑健康研究的寻根溯源,复习并研读传统文明元素,阐释中华国学文化对脑及脑健康的认知、理解和诠释,体现了中国人的大成智慧;倡导维护脑健康需要守静,以敬代静,顺应自然。老年人须觉解生老病死的自然规律,养生治未病,调适身心平衡,重视向思追求;阐明认知障碍的早期干预是防治老年期痴呆的关键,中医药在认知障碍早期防治中可以发挥独特优势;主张防治痴呆的要点在于延缓平台期。患有早期轻度认知障碍的老年人需通过自身对生存状态的觉解,净化心灵,以敬诚至善,同时配合医护人员具有同理心的治疗及家人的耐心陪伴抚慰,达到调摄保健的目的,以延缓平台期,防治老年痴呆。

In this century,the emerging Law of Conservation of Information has a great influence on the evolution of scientific and technological civilization,which enlightens us to view scientific and technological civilization from the historical perspective.By tracing the origin of the research on brain health of the elderly and reviewing the elements of traditional civilization,this paper explains the cognition,understanding and interpretation of brain and brain health in Chinese traditional culture,which embodies the great wisdom of Chinese people.It advocates that the maintenance of brain health relies on to maintaining peaceful mind through sincerity and respect,and conforming to natural laws.The elderly should understand the natural law of birth,ageing,sickness and death and treating disease before its onset,adjust the balance of body and mind,and pursuespiritual thinking.It is clarified that early intervention of cognitive disorders is the key to the prevention and treatment of senile dementia,where traditional Chinese medicine can play a unique advantageous role,and the key to preventing and treating dementia is to delay the plateau period.The elderly with early mild cognitive impairment need to purify their mind through their own awareness of the living state,to respect sincerity and goodness,while cooperating with empathetic treatment by the medical staff and comfort of their families,so as to achieve the purpose of regulating health care,delaying the plateau period and preventing senile dermentia.
