西汉时期,为了打通从巴蜀通过牂牁江而进攻南越的通道,汉武帝派唐蒙开辟了南夷道。南夷道沟通了巴蜀与夜郎的交通,加强了对夜郎及其旁小邑的开发,促进了西南夷地区的郡县化进程,对西南边疆的巩固产生重要影响。

In the Western Han Dynasty,in order to open up the passage from Bashu to attack Nanyue Kingdom through the Zangke River,Emperor Wudi sent Tang Meng to open Nanyi Road.Nanyi Road communicated the traffic between Bashu and Yelang Kingdom,strengthened the development of Yelang and its neighboring cities,promoted the process of county in the Xinan Yi area,and exerted an important influence on the consolidation of the southwestern frontier.
