This paper summarizes the methods and experience of TCM classification and treatment of depression for many years.Prescriptions are heart and spleen deficiency type,decreased interest,insomnia and dreaminess,dizziness and palpitation,mental fatigue as the diagnostic points,prescription is Guipi decoction combined with Ganmai Dazao decoction.Liver blood insufficiency type,with mental depression,sentimentality,reduced interest,insomnia,dreaminess,dizziness as the diagnosis for the type of liver depression,the diagnosis points are sentimentality,decreased interest,insomnia,dreaminess,irritability and tenderness in both flanks,and Shutiao decoction and Zhizichi decoction are selected as the diagnostic points.Phlegm heat internal disturbance type is characterized by sentimentality,decreased interest,insomnia and dreaminess,dry mouth and bitter mouth,and irritability,and the diagnosis points are Shiwei Wendan decoction and Banxia Shumi decoction.Yin deficiency and internal heat type is characterized by sentimentality,decreased interest,insomnia,dizziness,tinnitus,and night sweats.After many years of clinical observation,these methods are effective,which can provide guidance and reference for TCM in the treatment of depression.
