Adorno’s theoretical contributions in the field of Marxian political economy have been ignored for a long time.In Adorno’s view,Marxian political economy did not inherit and develop classical political economy,but launched a fundamental critique of it.Marx’s political economy studies relations of production,not things.Things are just the bearers of those relations.In addition,Adorno’s critique of political economy is centered on exchange.The principle of exchange is the concrete expression of the principle of identity in the field of political economy.Adorno’s critique of the principle of identity is the basis of his analysis of the principle of exchange.However,it is not enough to grasp the exchange principle to criticize political economy.
