From the perspective of historical materialism and modernity theory,This paper discusses the modern characteristics of Sun Yat-sen's criticism of literary theory and creation,and evaluates his important contribution to the modernization of Chinese literature and art.The modern characteristics of Sun Yat-sen's criticism of literary and artistic theory are mainly manifested in the scientific,national and popular characteristics of his literary and artistic thoughts,which is in line with his pursuit of modernity in literary creation.His works have always been concerned about the future and destiny of the Chinese nation,praising the revolutionary struggle spirit of the Chinese people,and always concerned with the sufferings and happiness of the people's livelihood,as well as the right to survival and development of the Chinese people.He initiated the modern reform of the content and form of Chinese the criticism of literary theory and creation,making great contributions to the modernization of Chinese criticism of literary theory and creation.
