An Analysis of China’s International Strategy in the New Era

党的十八大以来,以习近平同志为核心的党中央统筹中华民族伟大复兴战略全局和世界百年未有之大变局,明确助力中华民族伟大复兴和构建人类命运共同体的战略目标,确立构建全球伙伴关系、拓展全球发展格局、引领全球治理变革的战略布局,增强党对对外工作的集中统一领导,加强顶层设计、战略运筹和底线思维,确立了清晰的中国国际战略框架。中国国际战略的目标并非争夺全球霸权,而是在追求让人民过上好日子的同时,与国际社会共建人类命运共同体。习近平总书记的一系列国际战略思考,对于新时代中国对外工作具有十分重要的指导意义。

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)in 2012,the Central Committee of the CPC with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core have implemented the national rejuvenation strategy within a wider context of the once-in-a-century changes taken place in the world,clarified the strategic goals of boosting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and building a community with a shared future for mankind,established a strategic blueprint for building global partnerships,expanding global development paradigms,and advancing the reform of the global governance.The Party Central Committee has strengthened the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC over external affairs,enhanced top-level design,strategic planning and worst-case scenario thinking,and established a clear international strategic framework for China.Apparently,the goal of China’s international strategy is not to contend for global hegemony but to build a community of shared future for mankind with the rest of the world while pursuing a better life for its people.General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of international strategic reflections are of great guiding significance to China’s external work in the new era.
