Historical Stages and Features of Anglo-American Fu Studies

英美汉学界的赋学研究已有逾百年的历史,在不同的历史发展阶段,其时代语境、研究视角、观照维度以及方法路径均不相同。基于此,其研究大致可以分为19世纪末至20世纪初的萌芽期、20世纪初至40年代的初创期、20世纪50年代至60年代的发展期和20世纪70年代以来的繁荣期四个阶段。梳理这四个阶段的发展状况及其特征,总结英美学者的研究成果,指明研究存在的不足之处,对于拓宽国内赋学研究视角、加强中西文化交流具有十分重要的意义。

It has been over a hundred year since Anglo-American scholars began their studies of Chinese Fu.The historical background,research perspectives,viewpoints and methods are different in different periods.Therefore,Anglo-American scholars’Fu studies can be generally divided into four stages:the embryonic stage from the end of the 19th century to the early 20th century,the initial stage from the early 20th century to the1940s,the advanced stage from the 1950s to the 1960s,and the prosperous stage since the 1970s.It is very important for broadening the perspective of Fu studies in China and strengthening cultural exchanges between China and the West that we clarify these four stages’development and characteristics,summarize Anglo-American scholars’research achievements and point out relevant shortcomings.
