In the 1940s,in the special political context of the occupied areas, scholars in Peiping actively explored the rationale of literary enlightenment and called for the revival of culture to revive the national spirit. At this time, the"popularization of literature and art"advocated by the Great Rear Area and the Liberated Areas provided a theoretical reference for literary enlightenment for the literati in Peiping, and the Peiping literary circle immediately launched a discussion on the issue of"popularization of literature and art".The enlightenment strategy of"popularization of literature and art"in the literary world of Peiping emphasizes the nationality of literary content and form, which to a certain extent shows the national stance of knowledgeable literati in Peiping, and indirectly opposes the Japanese colonial ideology. As far as the construction of literary enlightenment discourse is concerned,"popularization of literature and art"undoubtedly implies a change in the enlightenment standpoint of the literati in Peiping.Under the common appeal of national salvation, the enlightenment principle of"popularization of literature and art"advocated by the Peiping literary circle has been implemented in the Great Rear Area and the Liberated Areas. The"popularization of literature and art"movement constituted an echo.
