With the introduction of core literacy, the cultivation of key abilities becomes more and more important in teaching. The key ability of a subject mainly refers to the ability level formed by the students in the course of subject learning with the essential characteristics of the curriculum and consistent with the core literacy of the specific subject. This article analyzes the status quo of the teaching of morality and rule of law in junior high schools and the importance of improving the key competencies of the subject, and proposes several effective teaching strategies for reference only.
