As one of the most significant French artists in the mid-20 th century,Jean Fautrier created a unique style of impasto and semiabstraction during WWII,breaking through a variety of conventional values of easel painting and facilitating the birth of post-war abstract expressionism. In addition to the breakthroughs and innovations in the painting world,Fautrier also deepened his deconstruction of conventional art ontology through real practices in artwork printing.Thought the founder of"Art Informel"himself,Fautrier has maintained a distance away from that title. This research identifies more effectively the position and value of this artist in the world history of art through studying his styles and his"Art Informel".
