狄公系列小说的译创研究

荷兰汉学家高罗佩一生用英文书写中国,与林语堂类似,为传播中国文化作出了巨大贡献。其译创的狄公形象被誉为"东方的福尔摩斯",狄公系列小说成为西方了解古代中国文明的重要媒介。本文探究狄公系列小说的形成过程,发现高罗佩以翻译古代公案小说为始,以创作改编古代诉讼案件为续,构建了独特的县令神探——狄仁杰这一人物形象。这种译创一体的模式让狄公小说顺利进入西方侦探小说场域,在侦探小说的"黄金时期"占据一席之地。

Robert Hans van Gulik was a Dutch sinologist and wrote a lot of works about China.Similar to Lin Yutang,he had great contribution to spreading Chinese culture.Judge Dee transcreated by him is called Oriental Sherlock Holmes,which is an important channel for Westerners to learn Chinese ancient civilization.This paper explores the process of R.H.van Gulik’s transcreating Judge Dee series and finds that he began with the translation of Chinese ancient court-case novels and continued with adaption of other cases,constructing a special Magistrate detective—Dee Jen-djieh.R.H.van Gulik’s transcreation is a critical way for Judge Dee series to enter the field of Western detective novels and become classics in the Gold Age of detective novels.
