Professor Cong Huifang’s experience in treating the sequelae of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease

丛慧芳认为慢性盆腔炎性疾病的病因之本是正虚邪恋。从“正气与伏邪”的角度,从女性脏腑、生理特点和体质等方面探讨慢性盆腔炎性疾病后遗症产生的病因病机:一方面,“正虚之处即是容邪之所”,湿瘀伏邪随正气虚弱而伺机停留,缠绵难愈,正气愈虚,邪气愈发作无时;另一方面,气的升降出入运动及女性多肝郁之体对三焦水湿代谢的影响与本病具有一定的相关性。治疗上以温、和二法为指导原则,用小柴胡汤加减治疗。

Professor Cong Huifang believes that the root cause of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is the lingering pathogens due to the deficient vital qi.She explores its etiology and pathogenesis from the perspective of vital qi and hidden pathogens,from the aspects of female viscera,their physiological characteristics and constitutions.On the one hand,where the vital qi is deficient,the pathogens tend to hide.The hidden pathogens of damp and blood stasis wait for the opportunity to stay with the deficient vital qi,lingering over time and hard to be dispelled.The more deficient the vital qi becomes,the more frequently the pathogenic qi attacks.On the other hand,the qi movement of ascending,descending,exiting and entering,and the influence of the common liver depression syndrome in females on the metabolism of water and damp in san jiao,are related to this disease to some extent.In terms of its treatment,the two methods of wanrming and harmonizing are taken as the guiding principle,and Xiao Chaihu Decoction is used flexibly according to different symptoms.
