Zhu Xi on "Those of Great Virtue will be Appointed"

朱子结合其理学前辈的思想,在思想框架内对《中庸》“大德必受命”进行了阐释。本文重点分析朱子对于前辈思想的选择性继承及发展,如何在自身“理气”思想的构架下通过气运、常理、非常理等概念,解释大德如何受命、孔子等大德为何不受命,并揭示其阐释背后赋予道德修养的积极意义。

Accounting the thoughts of his predecessors,Zhu Xi interpreted“Those of great virtue will be appointed”from the Zhong Yong within his own framework.This paper focuses on the analysis of Zhu Xi's selective inheritance and development of his predecessors'thoughts,and explanation of how those of great virtue are appointed,and why the Confucius was not appointed,and reveals the positive significance of moral cultivation in his interpretation.
