This paper examines in chronological order from the 1970s till the present the study of the topic of growth in the classic Chinese novel Dream of the Red Chamber.By analyzing the important viewpoints and theoretical frameworks of the research achievements in each decade,this examination presents a glimpse of the development and characteristics of Dream of the Red Chamber study in the English-speaking world.
