Objective: To observe the assistant therapeutic effect of active cycle of breathing technique(ACBT) in patients with acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD), and to evaluate its clinical application value. Methods: A total of 60 patients with AECOPD treated in our hospital from May 2019 to November 2019 were randomly divided into the ACBT treatment group and control group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received conventional treatment in the respiratory department, while the treatment group was supplemented with ACBT treatment on the basis of control group. The disappearance rate of wet rales within 7 days, the duration of antibiotic use, pulmonary function, arterial blood gas analysis indicators, and sputum output were compared between the two groups. Results: Compared with that respectively in control group, the sputum volume in 24 h, the number of days of antibiotic use, the disappearance rate of wet rales within 7 days, and the blood gas analysis indexes in the treatment group were significantly improved(P<0. 05), but there was no significant difference in the improvement of lung function between the two groups(P>0. 05). Conclusion: Active breathing and circulation technique has a good effect on moderate and severe AECOPD, which can significantly shorten the acute exacerbation period and improve the arterial blood gas indexes. However, short-term intervention showed no significant impact on lung function.
