With the penetration of the new generation of information technology such as big data and artificial intelligence in the field of archives and the development of disciplinary integration,Computational Archival Science(CAS)has been born.The exploration of its appearance logic can deepen the understanding and promote the development of CAS.From the perspective of generative logic,CAS appears under the dual role of archival science's own contradictions and social needs;from the perspective of theoretical logic,the integration of computational science,information science and archival science has changed the direction of archival science,expanded the research space of archival science and promoted the appearance of CAS;from the perspective of practical logic,the optimization of the practice of CAS on archival activities has enhanced the influence of CAS,and the changes in archival science education and scientific research cooperation have promoted the sustainable development of CAS.
