Yuan Haowen, who styled himself as Yishan, was a famous poet during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties.In Yuan Haowen’s poems, the word "Bingzhou",which symbolizes his hometown, appears many times.This kind of poetry was mostly written in the period when the poet left home as an official, lived in a different place or returned home after the fall of Jin Dynasty.Bingzhou is not only a geographical term, but also the spiritual support of the poet.The writing about Bingzhou shows Yuan Haowen’s praise for the heroic spirit of the young people in Youzhou and the natural poetic spirit of the north, his yearning for his hometown and his feelings for different generations.
