论儿童幻想小说中方言翻译的落差再造原则——以《五个孩子和一个怪物》为例

The Gap Reproducing Principle of Dialect Translation in Children,s Fantasy Novels:Taking Five Children and It as Example

方言在儿童幻想小说中具有特殊价值,然而目前方言翻译问题颇多,导致译文文学效果不足甚至缺失。本研究以英国著名作家伊迪丝•内斯比特的儿童幻想小说《五个孩子和一个怪物》为例,在分析现存译本方言翻译效果的基础上提出儿童幻想小说中方言翻译的落差再造原则,即译者应当再造方言与标准语在语用内涵、儿童文学性、文化内涵上的落差,力求最大程度地实现原文中方言使用所能达到的文学效果。

In children’s fantasy novels, dialect has its own special value, but there exists many problems in the translation of dialect, which will negatively influence the reproduction of literary effect. Based on Five Children and It, this paper analyzes the translators’ dialect translation strategies and their effect, suggesting that in order to reproduce the literary effect that can be achieved by using dialect in the source language, translators should adhere to the principle of gap reproducing, which means to reproduce the gap between dialect and standard language in terms of pragmatic connotation, literariness of children’s literature, and cultural connotation.
