Objective To investigate the periodontal status and the related risk factors of systemic glucose metabolism in patients with periodontitis and T2DM.Methods The data of 100 patients with T2DM and periodontitis admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from May 2018 to May 2020 were analyzed retrospectively, patients were divided into groups according to age, history of smoking and drinking, frequency of tooth brushing and flossing. The differences of CPI,FPG and HbA1c between groups were compared. Results The levels of CPI,FPG and HbA1c in the elderly group were higher than those in the younger group(P<0.05),the levels of CPI,FPG and HbA1c in the alcohol group were higher than those in the non-alcohol group(P<0.05),and the levels of CPI,FPG and HBALC in the smoking group were higher than those in the non-smoking group(P<0.05),the CPI,FPG and HbA1c levels in the high frequency group were lower than those in the low frequency group(P<0.05),and the CPI,FPG and HbA1c levels in the flossing group were lower than those in the non-flossing group(P<0.05).Conclusion Age,long-term smoking, alcohol consumption, frequency of tooth brushing and flossing can affect periodontal status and glucose metabolism in patients with periodontitis and T2DM,it is of great significance to maintain good living habits and oral hygiene habits for the control of periodontitis and the improvement of blood sugar level.Patients with periodontitis and T2DM should pay attention to oral hygiene in their daily life and maintain good living habits,to avoid further aggravation of periodontitis and diabetes.
