语篇连接在GRE语文逻辑填空中的应用考察研究

文章在系统功能语言学视角下探究GRE语文逻辑填空考试中语篇的连接应用特征,重点关注显明和隐含类连接手段的分布和实现情况。研究发现,该类考试中,显明类连接的频率远大于隐含类连接;在隐含类连接中,常以“冒号/分号+句子”和“(逗号)+非定谓成分”的形式出现,考察的语义范畴主要包括增补及因果;在显明类连接中,连词、副词和“介词+NP”为主要连接手段,连词中考察的语义主要涉及因果及转折,副词包含增补及转折,“介词+NP”考察因果及转折。研究有助于揭示该类考试的语篇连接特征,为师生阅读和填空的教与学提供新的视角。

The present paper explores the conjunctive features in verbal reasoning test of GRE from the perspective of functional grammar,focusing on the distribution and realization of explicit and implicit conjunction.Findings reveal that in this test the frequency of explicit conjunction is higher than that of implicit conjunction.In implicit conjunction,“colon/semicolon+clause”and“(comma)+nonfinite”are two common forms to realize addictive and causal relations.In explicit conjunction,conjunctions,adverbs and“preposition+NP”are common conjunctive expressions,with conjunctions realizing causal and adversative relation,with adverbs realizing additive and adversative relations,and with“preposition+NP”realizing causal and adversative relations.It is argued that the present study contributes to the exploration of conjunctive features in that test and to provide a new perspective for teaching and learning to teachers and students.
