Life Dilemma and Religious Salvation——Comment on Pema Tseden’s Balloon

《气球》是藏族导演万玛才旦的最新影片,影片自首映以来收获了国内外电影节的多个奖项,成为了近几年来备受关注的艺术片之一。文章以电影文本为基础,结合作者访谈,并通过影片主题、意象等分析,旨在探寻《气球》在导演同类题材作品中的突破。虽然影片的主题仍旧聚焦于信仰与世俗的探讨,但不同于万玛才旦以往的作品,《气球》将传统信仰与世俗现实的对抗凝缩在一个家庭的内部,使一个普通的藏族家庭生活充满了戏剧性,以一个女人的生命困境,寻找到了藏文化里沉静自省、宽容慈悲的本真价值,而这些精神特质正是今天我们思考如何处理传统与现代问题的一把钥匙。

Balloon is the latest film of Tibetan director Pema Tseden.Since its premiere,the film has won many awards at domestic and international film festivals and become one of the most concerned art films in recent years.Based on the film text,combined with the author’s interview,and through the analysis of film theme,image and so on,this paper aims to explore the breakthrough of Balloon in the same kind of film works.Although the theme of the film still focuses on the discussion of faith and secularism,unlike Pema Tseden’s previous works,Balloon condenses the confrontation between traditional beliefs and secular reality into a family's interior,and makes the life of an ordinary Tibetan family full of drama.With a woman’s life predicament,we have found the true value of introspection and tolerance of compassion in Tibetan culture.These spiritual qualities are the key to our thinking about how to deal with traditional and modern problems.
