女性主义翻译理论视角下的《红楼梦》两大中译本的比较分析

A Comparative Analysis of the Two Major Chinese Translations of Hong Lou Meng from the Perspective of Feminist Theory

杨宪益、戴乃迭与霍克斯的《红楼梦》译本是现存流传度最广的两种译本,翻译批评界对于这两大译著的评价和比较从未间断。以女性主义作为理论视角,对比分析两种译本及其译者在《红楼梦》的翻译活动中的异同,并从女性主义视域探讨这些异同的成因。以霍克斯的译本The Story of the Stone为对比样本,重点分析杨宪益、戴乃迭的译本A Dream of Red Mansions中的女性主义翻译的存在及其成因,并尝试探讨女性主义翻译理论在我国翻译实践中的意义。

The translated versions of A Dream of Red Mansions by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang and by David Hawkes are the two most widely circulated translation works in existence.The comment and comparison of these two works have never been interrupted by translation critics.This paper compares and analyzes the similarities and diff erences between the two translation works and the translators’activities of translating A Dream in Red Mansions,and explores the causes of these similarities and diff erences from a feminist perspective.In addition,this paper takes David Hawkes’translation work as a comparative sample,focuses on the existence and causes of feminist translation in Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang’s translation work,and tries to explore the significance of feminist translation theory in China.
