21世纪以来,《格萨尔》史诗研究在文学研究、文化阐释、艺人研究、《格萨尔》史诗的区域化特征解析、史诗遗迹遗物普查、史诗艺术研究等方面均有不少力作问世,尤其在新的学术话语体系和新的时代发展背景下,《格萨尔》史诗文学研究的口头诗学转向、跨学科研究的学术实践及非遗语境下对史诗传承传播的关注更使《格萨尔》史诗研究在新世纪有了新的发展向度。

Since the beginning of this century,many various studies have been done on The Epic of King Gesarfrom all aspects,for instance,from literature,culture,artists,regional characteristics,relics,art,etc.Thus,there have been many great works of the epic published.With the new academic discourse system and the development of the new era,theliterarystudies of the epic turns to focus on oral poetics,and the interdisciplinary studies of the epic have also been started.Owing to the much attention paid to the inheritance and transmission of the epic as an intangible cultural heritage,the studies ofthe epic have a new development direction in the new century.
